officially launches plan involving 5 insurance companies

Kuala Lumpur, February 24, 2009 - The National Insurance Association of Malaysia (NIAM) has proudly launched its revamped version of Teras Malaysia, namely Teras Malaysia Extra on 09 February 2009.

This enhanced plan targets all citizens from all walks of life that need an affordable term insurance protection with a money back reward during plan maturity. 

On top of the usual death & TPD coverage, Teras Malaysia Extra goes the extra mile to provide a lump sum one time payment of RM 10,000 for the 36 critical illness coverage, followed by daily hospital income that provides RM50 of relief fund every day as well as RM 2,000 for Funeral expenses.

Mr. Koh Heng Kong, Chairman of NIAM said: "The Teras Malaysia Extra Plan is another successful initiative by NIAM, as long as consumers are aware of the importance of life insurance, and the existence of Teras Malaysia Extra.

The participating insurance companies are AmLife Insurance Berhad, Etiqa Insurance Berhad, Hong Leong Assurance Berhad, Malaysian Assurance Alliance Berhad and MCIS Zurich Insurance Bhd.

In 1998, NIAM officially launched the Buy Malaysian Campaign logo with the theme Owned by Malaysians, for Malaysians. In the following years, NIAM offered different products in line with the campaign such as Sihat Malaysia, Tani Malaysia and Bijak Malaysia.
